I think the world and all its institutions are basically run by men, and they all have dicks, and they all have skeletons of one kind or another in their dark closets, and they all have mates, and they all feel personal loyalties to their mates, and they all protect each other all up and down the entire structure of our society.

The only thing about "1984" that I felt didnt apply to the witnesses was the method thru which history of the Party was Fabricated.
Material was directly recalled and altered to fit realities that had occured, making Big brother appear an infallible prophet.
The only example i ever saw like this in The Watchtower publications was the altering of certain dates in Russells scripture studies, announced in the March 1, 1915 Watchtower.
Other than that, the Watchtowers method of history fabrication has been much more subtle than anything in Orwell. A massive web of slippery distortions and ommissions spread over years and years of Watchtowers.To truly understand the rotten deceptiveness of Witness history fabrication you would have to have done extensive reading in Old materials. And even then, putting your finger onto a definite LIE is virtually impossible. IMO.
As a last resort they can always claim that you are interpreting it one way, now, in 2002. But that it was interpreted differently, and understood by the brothers differently, in 1920whatever.
How can that be refuted?
They also carefully provide themselves with an "out' somewhere in virtually everything they say, so that later they can say, "we didnt mean it the way you understand it". -

I do gather, from this, that the Great crowd have been moved FURTHER OUT from the holy of holies. Correct me if Im wrong.I just LOVE the way the WT pulls extreme literalism out of the drawer, when it suits them. "Women were not allowed in the mumbo jumbo courtyard", hence the Great crowd cant be in THAT courtyard.

my son is 13; and i am his teacher (homeschooled).
interestingly, the father was only concerned that the kid wasnt paying attention at meetings!.

I still dont know which is worse. Going to school with your peers and being programmed to fear them because they hate you.
Or.Staying at home and being denied normal interaction in the school of reality.
I was sent to the wrong secondary education school myself. went to tech school learning woodwork and sheetmetal.Not my thing. I always been a "booklearnin" person.Should have gone to high school. -

I can see someone responded there, but I cant read the post!
Anyway.
further to the story, I can report that the daughter who is 15, has made remarkablerecovery in the few weeks she has been in hospital.looks a lot healthier, and is especially enjoying watching TV.
A word of advice for the kid. Dont "recover" TOO quickly. -

This prompts a question. See, I was talking to an ex dub the other day who was telling me that his Brothers 3 daughters are (were)homeschooled here in Australia.
The eldest child just got admitted to hospital with Anorexia.
According to my source, the other two kids have now been ORDERED to attend school just like normal kids.
Anyone know if there is a great tendancy to "homeschooling" in the dubs?
